So storyboards for Rebuild 2.0 were released a while back and there were two interesting parts that were cut out from the movie.

The second storyboard looked like it came straight out of a H-doujin. WTF.

Aaaah, I'm sadt hey didn't do the first one. It would have been cool, esp. with how Shinji's face rips off when he's saving Rei.

The second one is just... er. Well. Er.

That's what I thought too! Since it was kind of awkward how we saw Asuka's face and then it flashed to EVA-03 going berserk.

I would have loved to see the reactions to that if they kept it in the movie theater.
