WHY is it that when we most need sensible self-care strategies, they are most difficult to remember, arrange and implement? Proof against intelligent design if ever I saw some.
Oh, farts. I suppose it's my fault, since I first uttered the words poop and fart to my boys, but they LOVE THEM. Whenever one of them farts it's like they just told the world's funniest joke. They would totally announce something like that to a visitor if they could get over being shy.
I dunno how one could get through toilet training without saying poop and fart. We talk about it all the time. Because it's okay to fart in your underwear but not okay to poop in your underwear, so you have to be sure which it is. I'm sure eventually it will be funny to him, but right now it was more like, he was making conversation with a relevant point of interest from his life. (Which makes it funny to me!)
Possibly my favorite aspect of parenting is witnessing the development of discourse coherence, especially in social chitchat. It's SO HARD to figure out what is relevant to a topic!
(This will be my favorite aspect until something reminds me of some other great aspect.)
It went well! Yeah, we're both going to have to get better at soloing with two...it's just daunting when you're facing it for the first time.
It wasn't a joke, though! We're potty training, so we talk a lot about pooping and farting; it's okay to fart in your underwear, but not to poop in your underwear, and so on. Eventually it'll become a joke, I'm sure.
