I really liked this fanfic. Tonks's and Remus's characters were spot on, and I liked the part where Tonks had green hair and a yellow hat... very appropriate.

I also like the theme in general - it's so like Remus to worry Tonks will be disappointed in him, and so like Tonks to not only understand, but to be exasperated that he thought she wouldn't.

Good job!

This was a nice surprise! With your prompt, I was expecting a piece where Remus asks Tonks to marry him. I love the reversal! :)

It works well, too, because Remus could easily misinterpret Tonks words the way he did and bring up his insecurities about his financial situation.

Good job! :)

Hee. I thought this prompt sounded a lot like a proposal too, so I decided it would be fun to try for something different. I'm glad you thought the setup for the misunderstanding worked. Thanks for the comment.

I love Tonks' character in this - how she tried so hard to make a beautiful setting for their dinner and the roses were still arranged "haphazardly."

I also love Remus' "A day for green hair, obviously." It's just such a Remus thing to say.

This is very sweet and in character. I loved the portraits that they wish they could talk to. And Remus idea of copy the poem on pretty paper is perfectly wonderful, but you got it just right that he would still feel unconfident about it.

And Tonks being so thoughtful and romantic herself is great, especially when he's so dumbfounded that she would do that for him, and that he misunderstood her so completely. Love her last line! :)

I'm glad you liked the poem idea. At first I was going to have Remus forget about Valentine's Day altogether, but I realized that he just wouldn't do that -- he has to pay attention to calendars, and anyway he's too thoughtful to forget.
