I liked the fact that this stand alone follow up created something very new rather than a rehashing of the first plot, as some follow ups tend to do. I thought that Sirius in particular was nicely in character here and the bit with him at the end was both hopeful and heartbreaking. Great work, as always.

I'm glad to see you writing again.
Love your use of the prompt and if I had to guess, I would assume that you were partly inspired by the book about libraries you recently mentioned? I love Tonks' gift to Remus, kind of envious about that *lol*
It was so much fun to read, liked the different pov's. You also captured Sirius feelings about being trapped very well and showed that even, if he was glad about the two, he still couldn't forget his own imprisonment.
Great work and I wish you a happy new year!

All three characters, in fact, we very well drawn. I adored Tonks' idea for the gift (I remember that link you posted, lol!), and I loved that she totally called Remus on his reasons for wanting Oxford rather than the exotic and exciting cities (she does indeed know him better than she thinks); so she takes matters into her own hands and give him both the exotic and the academic, brilliant woman. And how fitting that she decides to share part of that inspiration with the man who GAVE her the idea in the first place, and finds out by asking his best friend just as she had asked Sirius about his best friend earlier. Gift-giving in the true spirit of Christmas. Just lovely, and deftly executed ( ... )

Yes, Sirius threatened to run off with this fic altogether - I'd written the entire first section before I realized that I'd meant to have it in Tonks' POV, lol. But then I couldn't let go of some of that internal monologue of his and had to rethink the entire story. Sad that an imaginary man has me so thoroughly wrapped around his little finger... :P
