Wow, just wonderful. Needless to say, I loved the prominence of Sirius in this fic, and I think you write him remarkably well. :) Loved the details you've chosen for him (e.g., his long-fingered, nail-bitten hand) which reveal so much about his state of mind without going overboard one bit.

All three characters, in fact, we very well drawn. I adored Tonks' idea for the gift (I remember that link you posted, lol!), and I loved that she totally called Remus on his reasons for wanting Oxford rather than the exotic and exciting cities (she does indeed know him better than she thinks); so she takes matters into her own hands and give him both the exotic and the academic, brilliant woman. And how fitting that she decides to share part of that inspiration with the man who GAVE her the idea in the first place, and finds out by asking his best friend just as she had asked Sirius about his best friend earlier. Gift-giving in the true spirit of Christmas. Just lovely, and deftly executed.

I must say your Remus was very sexy in this fic, and I throughly approve of how he decided to convince Tonks of how much he loved his presents. ;)

Yes, Sirius threatened to run off with this fic altogether - I'd written the entire first section before I realized that I'd meant to have it in Tonks' POV, lol. But then I couldn't let go of some of that internal monologue of his and had to rethink the entire story. Sad that an imaginary man has me so thoroughly wrapped around his little finger... :P
