I especially liked this line.
This year, she’d spend it with Remus Lupin at the punchbowl, instead of explaining to her mother why Charlie was so much more interested in her school chum Evelyn, who was clearly less interesting than her own beautiful daughter.
That whole paragraph sort of reminds us not to take anything for granted and that life goes on- you just have to deal with it as it happens.
