The short: AMAZING. The audience was fantastic, the band really seemed to enjoy being there and got into it, they rocked all the songs, I got my CD signed, and basically yeah. FANTASTIC.

The Long... and I do mean long. :/ )

music: arts & crafts, music: concerts, pics: random, pics: personal

Yeah, I wanted to give them an eclectic mix since that's what my tastes are. Some artists (like the ones I mentioned above) had more than one song total that I included, but I also threw in random songs from artists who only got one on the CD.

That was a pretty incoherent sentence, sorry.

Also, I just posted about an awesome hobo in my journal.

That should say "on the CDs" plural since there were 3.

P.S. Ohhh! I also put two songs by The Blow on the CD and so when I saw Tegan's list of favorite albums of last year and saw that she had The Blow, I was wondering if that had to do with my mix CDs or if she discovered them herself. LOL

I was all sad because I was afraid they just tossed the CDs out once they got on the bus. Because seriously, they get so much shit from fans that they can't possibly keep it all. I was all sad because I wanted them to listen. I had originally planned to give it to them in Chicago (August) but they had to go straight to their hotel since they flew to the U.K. the next day, so I had to wait until Lawrence (November) to give them the CDs. It's retarded, but I was half-expecting them to mention that "this kick-ass awesome fan gave us these amazing mix CDs!" BWAHAHAHA. Anyway, so when I saw that on her list I was wondering if I had any influence in that.

Aww, I know how you feel. When I gave them the book I half knew they probably were never going to read it and half hoped they'd mention how awesome it was in an interview or something. (Tegan did say she liked it a lot and that Sara should read it when I handed it over..)

Oh well, even if they do read and listen to everything fans give them (which I like to think they do) they can't possibly mention it all, right? Nonetheless I'm sure they appreciate our support and the fact that we care enough to give them something special, right?

ANYWAY OMG SERIOUSNESSS WTF TURKEY.

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski.

It's awesome. And his sister is Poe, whose second album "Haunted" is entirely a concept album that accompanies the book. I love that kind of stuff.

The "layout" for my journal (aka the names for the links and the quote) are from that album.

You should have the whole album and I can give it to you.
