Summer 1989, I was at a med school prep program at the University of Louisville. Some of the folks at the prep program and I went to see the Club MTV show - and we were a few steps behind Information Society for a couple blocks, walking to the venue. Didn't realize who it was until we saw them onstage.

They threw floppy discs with band information out to the crowd. It was awesome.

Around that time they played at a local community college...I completely missed them and was really bummed when I found out. I guess the consolation prize was that year or so we walked behind Nivek Ogre from Skinny Puppy for a few blocks in Hollywood before a show without realizing it. He asked us if we knew of any good vegetarian places and we said no, we were going to Carl's Jr. There's some irony in there somewhere.

Yep, they used Star Trek samples throughout their earlier albums. I love InfoSoc, they're just too awesome.
