Since this will probably be my last business trip out to California, I arranged it so I'd fly home on Monday instead of Friday. I am spending the weekend at mrsmetallian's family's vineyard, where we have been bottling the 2005 pinot noir and enjoying fine meals and fine company. bottling at a vineyard sounds pretty awesome! My grandmother's family used to own a vineyard at some point in the long, long ago. I've always dreamt of running a vineyard, resort, and spa when I retire. But I guess it's a lot more work than I'd wager.

Oh, it is. It doesn't make a lot of money, it's more like a self-sustaining hobby.

I'll tell you what, it's a wonderful social mechanism. There are always tons of friends and relatives drifting in and out to visit and help with the work. Very cool.
