Backed up!

May 31, 2007 22:40

This is the time of year when I always get backed up on LJ. So much stuff always happens in a two-week period:

Green Key
Our Wedding Anniversary
Our Annual BBQ
mrsmetallian's Birthday

And usually there's more good stuff going on after that. Like giggglius is coming to visit tomorrow and then we're all going to Chicago for fatwetdog and nvogt's wedding on Saturday. Whee ( Read more... )

I am a strong supporter of Imperial Stouts, and opaque beers in general. I will have to check that one out.

Sadly, I doubt it will be available too far outside of Wisconsin, as liquor laws make it difficult for a brewery of that size to distribute widely. (They make most of their money from their excellent sodas, actually.) I have no idea how it stacks up to other Imperial Stouts, but I'll make it a point to try some others and find out.

What were those pieces of information? I must know!

It seems to be related to the opening scene of the movie and explaining the song there. I wasn't able to find anything beyond that.

I was just one piece of information, which can be found at the end of the section here. (it's the paragraph directly above "Video Game Appearances")

It looks like someone has edited it since I first read it, however. It sounded much more conclusive before. If true, it rather drastically changes an important situation in the movie.

This seems to be a trend at the moment - apparently Spiderman 3 had 40 or so minutes cut and makes a whole lot more sense when seen intact; I guess DVD acts as a safety net allowing you to cut the cinema release for action and restore the real story on DVD for the "real" fans.

Sometimes the scenes are never even filmed...I think that was the case for Revenge of the Sith. I remember feeling like certain things came out of left field, and that I sometimes didn't know WTF characters were talking about or why they felt so strongly about some things. I poked around online and found the original script (or parts of it) and other supplemental information that filled in a lot of those gaps, but I don't think all (if any) of that stuff is in the DVD version.

I'm also in Chicago this weekend, for an anniversary thing.

I'll keep an eye out for you. :-)

O-ho! We'll be at or around The Saddle and Cycle club tomorrow, and Lux Bar on Sunday morning, and I have no idea what will happen after that. Perhaps our paths will intersect?

Sorry - didn't get this till now.

I was pretty booked all weekend - dinner Friday, family party all day Saturday, and breakfast w/ friends on Sunday.

Hope you had a great time, though!

We were pretty booked as well, I just figured there was an off-chance we'd be coincidentally booked at nearby or identical locations. I've experienced weirder coincidences!

I read that this morning (in my email, I don't to LJ at work) and I'll have you know your alternate lyrics have been stuck in my head all day. :P

I got one better, to Head Like a Hole:

No you can't baste it,
No you can't baste it,
No you can't baste that turkey.

Down down before the one who serves
Or you won't get your dessert
Down down before the one who serves
Or you won't get your dessert

Gravy and rolls
Pass me the bowl
I'd rather die
Than eat the meat loaf!
