  • Saw King Lear at the Milwaukee Rep on Wednesday night. It was good...but not great. We couldn't point to anything specifically wrong with it (except maybe that Lear was too young and powerful) but it didn't really draw us in like the performances of Richard II and Much Ado About Nothing by Milwaukee Shakespeare. Hmmm...Blind Guardian is in Houston on the 10th of December. Provided, of course, this US tour isn't as worthy of Spinal Tap as their last attempt.

Hmmm, I saw them a few years ago back in Jersey, what was Spinal Tap-ish about it?

(Leaves Eyes is pretty good, too, BTW, if you haven't heard them before.)

Their last tour was a total logistical disaster. Cancelled dates, van breakdowns, you name it, it happened. I think you caught one of the half dozen or so shows they actually managed to play.

Unfortunately that night is Jane's choir concert, so I'll have to miss seeing them.

Woah, that sucks about the last tour - I had no idea all that was going on. I guess we did luck out, then.
