Today we, along with fortinbras16 and shandril, attended a director's brunch before Milwaukee Shakespeare's production of Twelfth Night.

So we finally went to Mader's (a Milwaukee landmark, and supposedly the best and most famous German restaurant in the USA) tonight. It's a really nice place, done up in an old-school German style, including stained-glass windows, suits of armor, and medieval weapons on the wall (which made us feel at home). We had a hell of a good night tonight.

First we went to Bayou for dinner with fortinbras16 and shandril. Since it was in the 70s and sunny, we ate outside on the riverfront patio. The food was excellent and the drinks were really good, too.

On Saturday, we went to Twisted Fork with T and G. They had a "Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster" on the drink menu, so naturally I had to try it. It tasted okay, but it was large and extremely...efficient. Between hitting a new weight-loss milestone that morning and having eaten next to nothing that day, that one drink put me on my ass for a mere $7. ( Read more... )

• Saw King Lear at the Milwaukee Rep on Wednesday night. It was good...but not great. Last weekend was pretty f'ing good, but I've been too busy (between the gym and work) to write about it until now.

We went into the city with wroughtironkite, MP, and KP, and met up with grumph, skyflight, MA->F and FF to see Avenue Q today. it was great! I think I may have liked it even better than Spamalot. It was very funny, very "different," and just overall fun and "relevant" with good characters.
