I see you...

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas or a pleasant Friday if you don't celebrate the holiday. Mine was pretty good. On Christmas Eve, we went over to my aunt (my mom's sister) and uncle's house as we usually do. Then on Christmas we stayed home and only my uncle Tom (my dad's brother) came over. Even though only one person was coming over, we had a ( Read more... )

Dude, I was so shocked by how long the line at the theater was all day! My fam and I usually go to a smaller one on Xmas, but yesterday, we went to a popular theater, and the line never got shorter! Thankfully, it moved quickly cuz there were 10 box office windows. We were supposed to see Avatar (which I don't care about at all), but my dad didn't go so we saw Nine instead, which wasn't as good as I'd hoped for. Man, the song/dance numbers were done so well though, and Marion Cotillard was an absolute dream. She never disappoints!

Glad that you're Xmas went off without a hitch, low-key as it was. I think Xmas Eve is always the more fun and stressful day actually. Everyone takes it easy on Xmas except for kids, who are all excited about their new toys!

I wonder how many people go to the movie theater on Christmas. I'm sure there are box office numbers out there somewhere. Just based on our experiences, I bet a lot of families do go. Almost everyone has that day off and if you're looking to do something with the family, it's a good choice. Especially because you sit quietly in the dark, so you're free from arguments for a few hours.

We all wanted to see Avatar, but the main reason we decided to see it that day was because of my dad. He likes movies, but rarely goes to the movie theater. He really wanted to see this one in the theater because of the 3D effects, so we thought it would be fun to go on Christmas. I'm not sure about Nine. I've heard a lot of reviews say that it isn't that great. I'll see it eventually, but I don't know if it will be in a theater.

I agree that Christmas Eve is usually more fun. It's the anticipation of the next day that makes it so great. But then Christmas day never seems to live up to your imagination.

My family always went to the movies on Christmas. Well, they still do, but I don't live at home anymore and I haven't been able to fly back for the last two Christmases. I miss that tradition!

This was the second year that we went to see a movie on Christmas. I thought it was fun and wouldn't mind if it became a tradition. That sucks that you haven't been able to spend Christmas with your family. Hopefully you'll get to next year. Or if not, you could go see a movie with whoever is with you next Christmas.
