I hope everyone had a nice Christmas or a pleasant Friday if you don't celebrate the holiday. Mine was pretty good. On Christmas Eve, we went over to my aunt (my mom's sister) and uncle's house as we usually do. Then on Christmas we stayed home and only my uncle Tom (my dad's brother) came over. Even though only one person was coming over, we had a ton of cleaning to do because our house was such a mess. Once he arrived, we spent the day watching Christmassy stuff on TV and then eating.
Later that night we all (except for my brother) went and saw Avatar in 3D. Hmm. I'm still not sure how I feel about the movie. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. I definitely do not think it was the best.movie.ever. I guess if I don't think about certain things too much, I can say that I liked and enjoyed it. I was really impressed with the special effects and how everything looked in 3D. I have to say, that was awesome. The movie theater was packed too, which really surprised me. I've only gone to the movies one other time on Christmas, and that one time, there weren't very many people there; I was shocked by the turn out last night.
I didn't get many gifts this year, but that's because one was really expensive. I'm not complaining; I'm very happy with what I received. The expensive gift was a new 64GB iPod Touch. I'm really excited to start using it, but I haven't yet because I know I'll probably spend a whole day trying to load music, movies, photos, games, etc. on it. I might just do it today because the only thing I have planned is to watch the newest Doctor Who special on BBC America tonight. I'm also really excited about that. Anywho, back to gifts, I also got the bareMinerals Jewel Collection kit, a pair of pajama pants from Old Navy, and a few lotions and lip stuff from Ulta and Bath & Body Works. I got some money from various aunts and uncles. Oh yeah, Santa also put a TON of chocolate in my stocking. Yum.
I took Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday off earlier this week. Then I'm also taking Monday and Tuesday off of next week. I have to go into work on Wednesday to finish up some things before the year ends. I'm not too upset about it. I would have preferred to just have a full two weeks off, but you gotta do what you gotta do. So far, time off from work has been wonderful. I was going to work a half day on New Year's Eve, but I might just take the whole day off instead. My only plan for that night is to go see Sherlock Holmes. That seems to be how I've spent the last couple of New Year's Eves - going to see a movie with family. I'm always happy doing that.
