Yesterday I had the bones removed from my left lower leg. I walk with a crutch now, but glory in the soft fleshy matter dragging behind me, foot bouncing over bumps in the pavement. At work I swing my thigh, setting up a pendulum motion which helps me keep time, turning the staccato of my typing into an easy rhythm.

The blood has started again, but not from the forearms. I am pleased, each globe of ichor validates my existence. The blood forces its way through the pores on my back and runs on to the chair, forming a prehensile tail as it puddles and drips to the floor. My sofa has tassles hanging along the bottom edge and I detest them. However, my order of squirrel heads arrived today. Slightly worse for wear, I tied one squirrel head to each tassle. As I rush by the heads sway in the air currents.

My sofa is now the best sofa in the galaxy.
