Thanksgiving

So I had a really nice trip visiting Michigan with Mark. We got to our hotel late Wednesday night…we had pretty good luck on the drive there and back in that we didn’t really hit much traffic at all the whole way. Which is good cuz that was a looooong drive

Glad you had such a wonderful trip! It's always nerve-wracking to meet the significant other's family but Mark's family sounds very lovely & charming. :-)

I'm glad you had a good time. :) There are dozens of amazing Lebanese places in Detroit - that's one of the things I miss about living there! There are only 3 where I live now - a restaurant, a bakery, & a grocery store. :\
The really sad thing is, most of downtown Detroit looks exactly like the photos. It's been that way for as long as I can remember - it's very end of the world/apocalyptic looking. The recent upside is, over the last couple years, lots of movies have begun filming there, because of that. I believe there's like 3 or 4 movies filming down there right now, plus the Detroit 1-8-7 series, that's on ABC.
Oh...and flaming cheese is flipping AWESOME!!! :)

I have to ask: after spending time with Mark's family and friends who all seem very connected and welcoming, did the thought cross your mind of what would it be like for you to go up there? I think families that are close are so endearing. I know you and your mom have a good relationship, but there are only two of you.

Reading this made me think, "I wish I had a big family." Oh wait. I do. We just don't talk to each other, for the most part. It seems that each of us instead have attached to our family-in-law, myself included. Strange to me how other families stick together but we repel, like magnets. Oh well /end tangent

So, did the thought cross your mind, even a little?
