Another challenge from Jay. It was a dual challenge - a children's story and a children's story written for adults. This is the first.

Based on a writing challenge from Jay. Had to be something about the moon personified as a person or something like that. Can't say I am too pleased with this, but such is life.

Dedicated to trivialt, because he requested a short horror drabble. The lack of quotation marks and puncutation in the speech was done for stylistic reasons.

She knew; the queen knew all. Knew when the girl snuck from her bed to join him in the crystal cave where summer never invaded and snow drifted despite the warmth. And he knew the queen knew what they did by night - never dirty but always innocent, the soft memories of child-like innocence once lost - and he also knew she did nothing about it.

Once upon a time, there was a girl who loved, loved so much she feared that she would give her heart away completely and if it ever ended up broken, would never be able to get it back.
