Waiting for the sparkle to die might be a disservice to vampire fiction. Your use of traditional precautions (the compulsive counting) mingled with the more unusual concept of captive vampires bringing luck is refreshing.

Heehee - ok, true. I won't let the sparkle hold me back if I get the passion to make a whole novel. (side note: I've always been fascinated by the compulsive counting thing...)
