I'm questing for a long-line bra - the sort of structural garment that's strapless and goes down to one's waist, often made to be worn with a backless dress. I know they exist, but are turning out to be elusive. Any suggestions on a likely hunting ground ( Read more... )

I agree with cat9, LadyGrace.com has some nice ones, so does Bare Necessities: http://tinyurl.com/d5a8ulh and believe it or not JC Penney: http://tinyurl.com/dyswxl9 still sells them but they are online only. Last year I went to the store to purchase one and the lady in charge of the foundations department had never heard of them! She said that in her 10 years of working in the department she had never heard of the term "Longline bra". Sigh.

I'll poke around in my fabric stash and see what I can come up with. I know I have some cottons set aside for "quilting" so I might have some stuff in there you can have.

"Quilting" seemed like a good idea at the time and has turned is a past time I will never, ever find the time to play with.
How and when should we get such scraps to you? Mailing is probably fastest, I assume.

Mailing probably is fastest. Scadian post works fine too, since I'm in no rush. : ) Thank you!

I've gotten longline bras at Lady Grace, but I also recommend trying David's Bridal or other formal store. I got my last one there and it was a really good fit.
