Famine to feast in one fail swoop

So we reach the time of year where I swear if I had the courage I would put down as evidence for a logistics job as I juggle the Sky+ recording schedule. :P ( Read more... )

Selfie takes a couple of episodes to get used to, then it is what it is. John Cho and Karen Gillan though. So why I am there. And I enjoy it. I just can't seem to call it good. But give it more than the first two episodes.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm having problems with. I like Marvel over DC because of the humor aspect, yet this season is trying to have the gritty dark stuff. Like I'm watching Constantine, which makes me a hypocrite, but it's clear about it's anti-hero, and the Dark Horse line has always been incredibly good about mixing enough magic and mythology with its darkness to be worth the ride. I just miss the days of team fun on a plane. :\

Nothing much I can recommend though, unfortunately. Maybe Constantine if it can grow into itself better than now.

I think there aren't many shows walking that fine line of engaging, potentially darker stories, and the aspirational bit of good guys trying to do the good thing, and getting on at the same time. Actually can't think of any. Except maybe Castle - but that always feels different to the more fantasy based shows.

Will check out Constantine.

I like S7 of Castle so far. I wonder if they'll do much about S6/7 finale/opener. Inquiring fans want to know!

Yes! Have tried to avoid detailed spoilers but have picked up some bits and pieces from the pretty over at Tumblr. Maybe they want to set up a mystery arc now that they have done the story about Beckett's mother.

Yeah, I'm not really inspired by much on TV at the moment, except maybe Grimm. S3 has just started here. Given up on Who, Gotham didn't grab me. I see bits of Scorpion, which is surprisingly engaging, but the female lead bothers me. I watch Agents of Shield for the same reason you do (not the moustache though!).

Loved Grimm S3 - some nice twists and turns.

Scorpion is definitely entertaining but even I feel like I am putting my disbelief firmly to one side at some points. :D
