Mr P and I have visited the perilous lands and survived !!!!!
Day one
Our first visit to the Trefil Quarry was in mist which meant we couldn't see very much. Entering the quarry was awesome. We drove on for about a mile and saw nothing that remotely looked like the Merlin location. On our way back we went up to the working quarry aptly named Gryphonn Quarry. A man there told us that Merlin was indeed filmed where we had just come from. So once again we went back in the mist armed with our screencaps but still couldn't find the exact place. It was back to the Hotel and warmth. I was very worried about us getting locked in the quarry as there is a barrier but I have found out that as long as the Gryphonn Quarry is working the barrier is open. Later on I was told there is an emergency telephone number by the barrier should it be locked with you inside.
Day two
Mr P stayed at the barrier so I was safe. I thoroughly enjoyed driving well a bit of off roading to a track further on than the awesome entrance. Out I got and with the guardians of the perilious lands - sheep, I walked up another track. As I'm a Bradley fan I was trying to find where he climbed up after getting out of the bog. I was looking for a rock with a crack in it yes a rock with a crack in a quarry. To this day I do not know why I left the track and walked up a bank, I just felt I was in the right place, I found the pool and the wood. I took loads of photos but nothing seemed to fit. Never mind back to Mr P.
Coffee time and he looked at the photos I'd taken. They've flipped one Mr P said and sure enough there was my rock with the crack and I could imagine Bradley climbing next to it.
Another visit a week later
This time with Mr P and Mr P Junior. We walked and discussed where the camera would've taken shots then armed with loads more photos returned home.
Yes a day trip of about 300 miles but it was worth it.

Top one is flipped from the one below it - how crafty they are. Guess they wanted Bradley to go left to right of the screen. Also note that right handed Bradley has his sword in his left hand - a sign of a flip.
The pool complete with the wood, and yes sword in his left hand so flipped of course.
Bradley at the top - well done !!
Lookiing over the Perlious Land. This area features a lot in my further posts.
There is a short metal tube close to the bottom right which they cover with rocks - not very well. Good location hunters can spot it !
The Tower - great CGI effects - they are soooo clever.
Who's this ? Is he lost, I know exactly where he is.
Well they just had to be in this report didn't they
DIRECTIONS TO THE LOCATION
There's a roundabout about 4 and a half miles east of Merthyr Tydfil on the A465 The Heads of The Valley Road. One of the exits is signed 'TREFIL' take it.
Now just keep going.
Through the village.
Keep going.
Through the barrier note this maybe closed at weekends or in week day evening when the active quarry has closed for the day..
If you get caught inside there's a contact phone number at the barrier to ring and let you out quarry has closed for the day.
Once through the barrier just keep going.
Pass the moorland on the left aka 'our Killing Fields.'
Through the awesome entry to the quarry.
Keep going.
The road bears right and goes round in a semi circle.
Keep going.
It straightens and the side of the road drops away on the right. Soon after the road straightens there's a track with a cliff on one side of it.
Park.
Go up this track.
Perilous Lands on the left - keep going and on the left is a bank. Go up this and you can see where Bradley clambered up.
Go to the top and view various locations. Have loads of FUN !!!!
