Thank you so much for that Etsy link! I'm making a steampunk costume for a cosplay event in May and I've been haunting the second hand stores for broken clocks and the like! -- Dagonell

Yeah, old clock parts aren't good because the cogs are welded to all the rods (I know 'cause I tried the same thing; took apart an old clock).

Tentacles. Might be Lovecraft Cthulhu. might be the Flying Spaghetti Monster's Noodley Appendages.

The wolf looks very cool. I can not wait to see the epic dragon. :)

Oooo...that'd be a great name for a tentacle mask too. "His Noodly Appendages". It must BE!

Thank you! I did like the name of this mask too. :) It's going to be even cuter because the next one I make will have a jeweler's swing arm magnification loupe attached to it as well. Fun fun!

Cultural saturation is indeed weird. I know what I like, but I often like things just for the "look" of them alone. I love the pseudo industrial look of steampunk (especially the "antique technology" of Victorian era watches and gearworks etc...it's all so wonderfully made and beautiful), but I don't quite understand the subculture.

*shrug* I guess I don't really have to. I can just make pretty things and let others interpret as they will.

i would see Lovecraft as more diesel punk personally. though any of the god-lings, or other races would eat more or less any steam-punker alive, drive them insane or the like.

btw i may be more rogers and Hammerstein than either diesel or steam...
