I have faith in you! :)
Err, my wife and I may still be asking for a mask for each of us from you. >.> Hope you'll still be selling!

Oh I'm still in business...no worries. :) I'm just going to start making some huge cool unique designs that are going to be in the "WOW" category. Masks that belong in collectors' homes, or galleries, or art museums. This is my goal.

Yeah. I remember I kept thinking you were crazy, telling as much as you did. Actually I think I even SAID so. Several times ( ... )

It really was an almost self-destructive impulse, I have to be honest. My brother has a saying; "The success is in the secret", and I intentionally flew in the face of that.

You know I love a challenge though. It wasn't enough for me to be the "best" at my method, because that was an easily-won plaudit, since I was the ~only~ one using my method. I want to the the best...period.

I think with my new ideas that can really happen. :) I'll give you a call (or see you in person!) soon and tell you what is up my sleeve. ;)

I was ecstatic to find your tutorials for several reasons. The first and most major is that you could tell us what mistakes to avoid by sharing your technique. Someone just branching out could avoid very expensive wastage. I was seeing your work and the love you put into it and going "I have got to TRY that!" You told me to make it mine.
Another part of it was that I had just recieved my grandfathers tooling set, the set on which I had first learned to put designs into leather as a little girl.

Now I would never steal your designs (I won't say I haven't been tempted..)

Maybe I haven't thanked you for it before, but now I will.

Thanks for paving the way.

You are welcome. :) I really don't mind other people using my tricks...as long as they're willing to experiment and come up with a few of their own.

Stealing designs though...I put my foot down when it comes to that. If you are stealing designs, you're just a crafter really. There's no art involved in that at all.

I'm never threatened by other artists though...if you can translate your own art into this medium, then that's all your accomplishment and good for you. :)

I have heard similar from magicians who watched their pupils hone in on their territory. And the end results was incredible new shows.

OK, here is a challenge I know I am going to pay for (cuz I hope to have first dibs to buy when it is done, and I do not see it as inexpensive.) How about a Steam Punk wolf? :)

Your old stuff is awesoe, I look forward to the new stuff.

I can think of a few artists (kazeno taka down there for example) who have used this medium to really bloom and expand on their own amazing art, and I think that's awesome. :)

Steam Punk EVERYthing...just you wait. ;)

*hugs* I'm always learning new lessons/new things about myself and my art. Who knew self-sabotage could be a form of forcing self-improvement?
