Rough day

Well, Kiba had his teeth cleaned.  They took him in at 8AM, his procedure was at 9AM, they called by noon to say he was awake and okay.   They told me I could pick him up at 4PM...he still wasn't walking very well.  :(

It's 9PM and he hasn't moved from his bed.  He wags his tail, one time, when I give him pets and tell him he's a good dog, but

If it makes you feel any better, my mom once had my cat's teeth cleaned when I was in high school, and when we brought her home she was in a similar state. Slept the rest of the day, barely moving when we pet her. But by morning, she was fine. I think whatever they use to knock them out just takes a long time to wear off; longer than it probably should. Kiba's probably just really confused about what's going on, but he should be okay.

He's gone from The Happiest Dog In The World to The Most Miserable Dog On The Planet. :( I just hate hearing him cry. He keeps looking at me like he's trying to say "make it stop!" and yeah...very sad husky.

I gave him his pain meds an hour ago and hopefully that'll help. He's still wobbling. It's very distressing.

Even after a night's rest? That IS a little worrisome. Tasha looked zoned out and weird for a little bit the next morning, but after a little while she seemed fine. :/ I wish I could help. I don't know what else to do other than call the vet's office. I hope Kiba's not having an allergic reaction or something.

He's nine years old...it's easy to forget that because he's active and healthy, but I think he's recovering slowly from the anesthesia because technically he's a senior citizen.

Also, he's always been a bit of a drama queen with a low threshold for pain, so his sore mouth (plus he had one tooth pulled...a small one but still it hurts I bet) has him down.

:( Tell me about it. I've got a crew of guys throwing away half the stuff in my basement. Every time I go down there to direct the action, Kiba howls in a pathetic confused way. He's so messed up.
