Okay, let's see.  Happy news!

*Charlotte is kicking butt at Purchase.  She's regularly getting A's and 95% on everything she's handed in so far in her classes.   She's oddly upset about this somehow, because she can't figure out why she's 5% less than perfect.  I can't help thinking that's hilarious.  :)  I'm so proud of her.

*Char also has a job!  ( Read more... )

Well, *I* can do it, of course, assuming my digestive system hasn't fallen out by then. I don't know if anyone else is close enough, though. Maybe Kris? Anyone else would pretty much have to take a plane to get to Cloyne. Not that planes GO to Cloyne, of course...you'd go in to Ottawa or Toronto.

People could always just fly into Buffalo and come up with me. I could take at least three people in my car. They'd need passports (but they'd need that anyway).

*hug* Hopefully your digestive system won't fall out! You can always bring special food with you, too, if you're on a restricted diet.

I suspect now that I have some form of IBD, probably ulcerative colitis, but I'm still fighting to get an appointment with a specialist to find out for sure. Honestly ulcerative colitis would be...unpleasant...but not that hard to deal with compared to a few other possibilities I had been considering. (You mainly have to avoid insoluble fibre, which SUCKS as basically you have to bar a LOAD of extremely healthy foods from your diet...I was basically eating too HEALTHY to minimize pain, if that is what I have...I always try to get in as much insoluble fibre as I can, no white bread, etc...but that's absolutely the opposite of how you need to eat if you do have u.c. or many of the other IBDs. *SIGH* It really gets me mad, thinking that some prima-donna body part could force me to eat poorly for the rest of my body, just to keep IT in working order. I'd honestly almost rather chop it out entirely. Almost ( ... )

I have had Ulcerative Colitis for the last 10 years or so and my father had Crohn's disease. If you need websites to look at, or someone to talk to look me up. Prayers and good energy to you.

If I could figure out a way to get there, I would be totally down for that. I haven't gotten to go kayaking in years!

If you can fly/bus/Amtrak into Buffalo and you have a passport to cross over into Canada, you can come up with me in my car. :) I have space for 3 people as long as you pack light.

Ooh! Well that's certainly do-able. ^_^ I'm not sure how many days you were thinking, but I always pack light anyway. Definitely keep me in the loop!

I would totally dig a lj Canada (with kayaking!) trip, if y'all would have me...I can't make any guarantees this early though I'm afraid, since I have no idea what my job (if I have one) will be next year...I'm only employed through midsummer, and after that it's wherever the wind (wind being money) takes me. ^_^;; But this is exactly the sort of thing I'm always wishing I could do with people.

Sure! It'd be fun to hang out with you IRL and really, thisd place is like heaven for kayaking, hiking...all that good stuff. You can't NOT have fun. :)

I'm thinking late August, Early September.

Ohhhh haunted houses/mazes/hayrides are SO much fun :D I went on a haunted train ride once and it was awesome - this guy jumped into our car with a (fake) human arm that he was 'eating' and it actually smelled like rotting flesh. He sat right across from me and pushed the creep up to 11.

I also helped out with my college's haunted house that was set in the naturally creepy Losekamp hall (drama building). This was an old, old building with lots of creakiness inside. I was all bloodied up and scared kids. One year I was part of the 'haunted waltz,' and me and a friend waltzed as the undead for hours :3

Also - I'd love to do a cabin thing. I'm not sure I'd trust my car to drive farther than Buffalo, so carpooling would be awesome if possible. I'd also have to see what my employment status is by then. :0

It'd be great to have you there. :) Lots of beautiful birds on those lakes, and loons calling every evening on Marble Lake in the moonlight.

It's a haunting and beautiful sound...I was hearing them calling all over the lake when I was out on my moonlight kayak trip.
