Chapter 1 / Chapter 2 / Chapter 3 / Chapter 4 / Chapter 5

Key was just walking down the hallway like he had done every day since Monday, but someone had decided to trip him. He didn’t land flat on his face, Key had caught himself before he completely fell over. There was only one person who would even attempt to trip Key and I think we all knew who that is.

“Oh no, it’s the big bad Jonghyun! Whatever shall I do?” Key said with sarcasm in his voice.

“Does the little Key actually think he can do something to me?”

“Little? I’d say you were the little one here, shorty,” people walking passed the scene ‘oohed’ at Key’s comment.

“Come on, get to class!” a teacher had run up to the group of students surrounding the two.

It had been like this every day since they had met, constant bickering between the two. Luckily they hadn’t got into any fist fights, yet anyways.

“Key, did you know Onew is going to the movies tonight?”

Of course I knew, it seemed like half of the school was going tonight, “No I didn’t know.”

“If Onew is going, that means… Ga-in is going!”

“Well Onew invited me, you guys want to go?”

“I’d rather not.”

I already knew Jonghyun was going, and that’s just a disaster waiting to happen. The guy would find some way to get on my nerves and ruin the night.

They both whined, “Come on, please? I heard Taemin is already going, you don’t want him to get molested by all the girls do you?”

My eyebrow twitched. Ever since I gave Taemin that stupid makeover all the girls were throwing themselves at him. He could just be walking down the hallway and it seemed like millions of girls were walking with him. I believe their trying to get into his pants or lock him up in one of their closets so he can never leave.

Should I go? I could always just try avoiding Jonghyun or going in a disguise or something…

“Fine, I’ll go.” I feel like I just made the biggest mistake of my life.

“Really? Yay!” They both squealed and hugged me.

Taemin looked at the majorly long line in front of him and sighed. How was he ever going to get in the front of this? The line moved as slow as it possibly could, but Taemin eventually got his ticket.

It was a good thing he got his dad to bring him early, he still had enough time to get popcorn. In the line someone had accidently bumped into him causing him to lose some of his balance and bump into the person in front of him.

Taemin squeaked, “Sorry.”

The figure turned around, “Umm, it’s ok?”

”Minho..? I totally didn’t mean to bump into you! I’m so sorry!”

“Calm down, all you did was bump into me,” with that Minho turned to the side moving up in the line. After that it there was an awkward silence between the two, both not knowing what to say.

Once Minho got to the counter he turned to Taemin, “What do you want?”

He didn’t understand the question, “What?”

“I said what did you want?” Minho pointed at the large sign above the snack area.

“I have money… I don’t need you to buy anything.”

He turned back to the woman, “One coca cola, one orange crush, and two medium sized popcorns.”

After paying Minho grabbed the orange crush and one of the popcorns and handed it to Taemin. He began walking away and Taemin followed him, “You didn’t have to buy me anything, I told you I had money.”

Minho turned around, “Look-“

He was cut off by a girl running up to Taemin and grabbing onto the arm he held his drink in, “Taeminnie! We finally found you!”

Following the girl was a jealous looking guy with his hands full of candy, “Sulli, why do you always cling on Taemin like that? You’re my girlfriend.”

“Yeah, I think I know that. Taemin is just so cute though! Every time I see him I just can’t resist touching him.”

He gave an awkward smile, “Hello Dongho, Sulli. Sorry Minho, I have to go now. Um, bye.”

The three left and Minho gave a sad smile, he missed being Taemin’s friend.

Right at this moment Key was wondering what the hell he was even doing here. Jake and Jokwon were practically stalking Onew and Ga-in, and he was following them. Tons of people would come up and say hi, hug them, and then walk off. Once they got into the movie theatre they sat a few rows behind Onew, Ga-in, Minho, Jonghyun, Jessica, and the rest of their popular (cough slutty cough) friends.

Key hoped that in the darkness of the movie theatre no one would recognize him and the two idiots he was sitting with. The two were throwing their popcorn at Ga-in and Onew every time they would get too cozy. It was slightly funny, but it wouldn’t be too funny when the staff of the movie theatre saw them and made them leave. Towards the end of the movie Key decided it would be fun to throw popcorn at Jonghyun and his girlfriend.

It wasn’t until after the movie he realized that maybe it wasn’t the brightest decision to throw popcorn at the pair.

Once the credits started rolling the audience started slowly making their way out of the theatre Key really had to pee.

“I’m going to the bathroom guys,” Key left the two and walked to the bathroom alone.

When Key was done with his business he walked out, but crashed into Jonghyun.

“Hmm, so the almighty Key is here, huh? I’m assuming you were the one throwing the popcorn and me then?”

“And if I was?”

“Oh I know it was you. Do you have a problem against straight people, fag?”

“No I don’t have a problem with straight people, I only threw the popcorn because I have a problem with you.”

“It might just be me, but I don’t think you denied being gay just now. Did your daddy not make you man enough when you were little, or was he a fag too?”

Something snapped on the inside when Key heard Jonghyun talking about his dad, he punched him square in the face. Jonghyun stumbled back, shocked that Key actually hit him. He decided he would challenge him and punched Key in the gut. The fight continued back and forth, and everyone else in the restroom left one by one and didn’t bother splitting the two up.

Finally they both felt someone pulling them away from each other and heard someone say, “Hurry up, someone called the police!”

It was all too quick and before he realized it Key was in the back of Jokwon’s car with a split lip and black eye.

“What the hell were you thinking?!” Jake yelled.

Key shook his head, “I don’t know.”

Jonghyun, Onew, and Minho were just studying when Jonghyun randomly spoke up, “Do you like him?”

Onew looked up from English book and looked at Jonghyun, “Jonghyun you shouldn’t get into other people’s business…”

“If it’s about my brother and my best friend, than it is my business. Come on Minho tell me, do you like him?”

Minho knew what he was talking about and he didn’t have much of an answer himself, “I’m not sure.”

“Well then if you’re not sure, you shouldn’t keep his hopes up,” Jonghyun growled.

Minho sighed and gathered his stuff. Right when he was about to leave he turned to Jonghyun, “Tell him to meet me at the mall’s coffee shop later.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Hi,” Taemin smiled at Minho.
“Hey.”
“So, what did you want to talk to me about?”
Minho looked around the coffee shop, “Is it true what people have been saying?”
Taemin’s smile faltered, “What have people been saying?”
“That you,” his throat tightened, “like me.”
Taemin looked down at his hands, sliding down in his seat. He didn’t know if he should lie to keep his best friend, or to answer truthfully and risk being heartbroken.
Minho couldn’t stand the silence anymore, “Well?”
“Yes,” he looked up at Minho, “I like you.”
Minho looked at the tears building up in Taemin’s eyes and stood up, “I’m sorry.”
Minho left the coffee shop trying not to turn around to see Taemin crying, he was trying to hold his own tears until he got home. He felt something for the younger boy, he just wasn’t all that sure yet.
After the meeting at the coffee shop Minho did everything to try and not run into Taemin. When summer came along he didn’t have to worry about seeing Taemin at Jonghyun’s house because Jonghyun left to Korea with his mom. He felt empty on the inside, like something was missing. Maybe the thing missing, was his heart.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Minho woke up hoping that his dream was just that, a dream. But unfortunately, it wasn’t a dream. It was a cruel part of reality that had sucked him in, and now it was all too hard to go back. Last night bumping into Taemin at the movies had been hard, but after the fight with Key and Jonghyun he had forgotten all about Taemin.

All this time he was trying not to remember that day, and appearing in his dream like that made him depressed. Minho wished he could go back in time and change everything he had said, the way he acted.

Maybe Monday would be better, maybe just maybe.
