How badly does AT&T suck?

I have better reception in the middle of the Judean Desert than I can in San Jose. Or Harrisburg. Or DC.

I can switch faster from Airplane mode to full usage in the Judean Desert than I can in Chicago. Or Dallas. Or Nags Head.

Can I take Israeli phone service home with me?

wtf, at&t, israel, travel, phone

I got better, more consistent cell service in Cambodia than I do in Seattle.

(Okay, Cambodia is mostly flat, and landline infrastructure is basically nonexistent outside Phnom Penh and Siem Reap so everyone who can afford to carries cell phones, but still.)

Dallas is fine in, say, 85% of the metroplex. But whenever you're passing through that other 15%...ugh...

I know, right? I really hope that Verizon gets the iPhone come January or so. That way either AT&T's network will improve because people will move off it, or BF & I will move to Verizon as soon as his contract is up next August.

I figure it has to do with them being a tiny country and all.

Heh. Still; awesome cell service in the middle of the Judean desert? Approximately 1 hour or so from Jerusalem? Wasn't expecting that to be so much better than SF.
