1. Dear El Jay: this new topbar thing is bullshit. It's messing up my nice layout and is adding stupid social media features that I DNW and don't know how to remove.

You should be able to turn off the navigation strip through http://www.livejournal.com/customize/options.bml - I think.

I futzed with the options a bunch when it first appeared last night, but none of them seem to work. :( I think they are still working on the controls or something. It's not catastrophic, just annoying. Hopefully they'll sort it out to be better.

I'm gonna be ooooooooooold. :P

I agree about the navigation bar. It's far worse than it was, just plain annoying. Not to mention the font is tiny!!!

I'm not opposed to updates, but couldn't the make it work with the journal layouts the way the old one did? >:(

It's from this bit of old school wtfery. (You probably saw it before?) Another version on GIS has a few paragraphs of text... apparently the "bad literature" is Sappho, ahahaha. We all know where THAT sort of thing leads! A Classics degree.
