Has anyone ever run across an SPN fic where after Dean goes to Hell, Sam, in his desperate will-make-a-deal-with-anything phase runs into/goes to the Trickster who, for whatever reason, takes pity/payment/the opportunity to pull untold amounts of shit over on everyone and it's Gabriel that breaks Dean out of Hell

No, see, the Trickster thing would become the Sam-conflict, a bit, rather than Ruby. Because remember how Sam in S5 was all about trying to talk him around and Dean was like yeah, NO. So Sam is a little less than hate-filled and Dean wears gratitude to Gabriel not much better than he wears it to anyone at all. Except for a long while the boys don't even KNOW he's an archangel, as in canon, and it's Cas that susses it out eventually...

Meanwhile, Dean tries very hard not to bond with Gabriel over their mutual lack of anything resembling good taste, Sam gets to have really FUN dealings with various pagan pantheons and what owing Trickster gods a debt really means (*pats his head*), Zach can't figure out why his carefully constructed mindfucks suddenly come with all the accoutrements of the weirdest Japanese gameshows, and Castiel deals which being the angel who had his job snatched out from under him (ooer). Drama, betrayal, tours through the Chart of Manpain etc.
