Hehe. If Callum goes to the TIFF, he's going to have to watch where he's lighting up.

I went downtown today to get my credit card and mail a book (THE book) to omphale23. It is hot as hell out there. 38oC with the humidex (that's 100.4oF for you Yankees). Considering it was cold and rainy last week I was not prepared for this. Thankfully the forecast says ( Read more... )

July, August and the beginning of September are known to be humid an disgusting. We had a 40-degree heat wave in the middle there, for about two weeks, which in the last decade has become common. Of course, it was even hot in June this year.

I recommend the beginning of October for visiting Southern Ontario. *nods* That way, you avoid both the hot and the cold.

Thanks for the tip. Think they'll reschedule TIFF for me if I ask nicely?

Do not mock me with your weather, woman! Know that everyone who does not live on your coast considers you all giant wimps. Especially the Winnipegers. Come live in the Snow Belt for a while. :P

Ugh, yeah, I was out and about walking around all day carrying heavy things. Not fun. Hopefully next week we will not die. *crosses fingers*

I didn't say in the other post, but meeting at the Eaton Centre (in front of HMV?) sounds like a good plan. How's 10:30am sound? I'm not sure what time scriggle and primroseburrows are getting in, but we could all hook up at the place where we have to pick up our tickets, maybe.

It was gross.

Meeting in front of HMV sounds good, even though my recollection of exactly where it is is spotty. I know the one just up Yonge, but do you mean one in the Centre itself?

Barring major Greyhound issues 10:30 ought to be okay for me. I have a cell phone now *g* so if there's a problem I can call that day. IM me on Yahoo and I can get your/give my active email addy, cell numero etc . . .

We're getting in Tuesday night.

The place you can pick up tix are: TIFFG Box Office at Manulife Centre, the Festival Box Office at College Park, or the WestJet TIFF Box Office at Roy Thomson Hall.

I suppose if you give prb and I an address and a time we'll be able to find it.

Oh, I didn't know you were coming in Tuesday! That's awesome!

Is it okay to meet at the Eaton Centre (220 Yonge St) at the corner of Young St. and Dundas St. E? We can meet in front of H&M - it's a clothing store which is three stories tall and has a big neon sign outside. I know prb hates driving in Toronto (hates hates hates) and the Eaton Centre is easily accessible via public transportation. The Dundas subway stop is right in front of H&M, in Dundas Square. It should be fairly easy to find. *crosses fingers* After we meet up we can walk to the Festival Box Office on College Park - it's about two blocks up from the Eaton Centre. I hope that sounds okay.

Please email me at nos4a2no9@gmail.com if you need better directions!

38?! It's barely scraped into the 20s here this year. Well, apart from that one week in April when it was ridiculously hot. APRIL. o.O

*ups sticks and moves to..err...anywhere in Canada* Hee.

This part of Canada get hot, I tell you. In August you can expect 40 degree days. And yet still Yanks come up with their skis looking for snow, like there's a magical wall of Freezing at the border. Hee. I think the centigrade temperatures must be confusing.

We get the odd warm day in April too. Of course, it'll start sleeting again in the next week. We have manic-depressive weather. The answer to both extremes is beer. "Jeeeezus, it's cold out there! Come inside, have a beer, warm up." "It's hot as hell! Come inside, have a beer, cool down." *g*

Canada welcomes you with open arms. :D

Hee! I guess when you sent me your cold, we kept it.

It's been nasty hot and humid here all summer, especially the last couple of days bc we had a big typhoon. 2 minutes without ac and I'd be sweating. Ick.

have fun at TIFF! **is jealous**
