achy breaky head

Anyone know the deal with headaches? I got an absolutely splitting one a few weeks ago. This one is not as bad but my head hurts and I can't really focus on anything. Could it be from not having caffeine today? Or what?

Caffeine definitely helps headaches, and I know that headaches can be a symptom of caffeine withdrawal. But the withdrawal shouldn't be that bad after just one day.

In my experience? I get headaches from stress, computer screen eye strain/glare, bright lights/sunshine, prolonged loud music/noises, fatigue...yeah, I get them a lot.

I had a splitting headache for most of today (including the three hours I was being the pilot study participant in someone's psycholinguistics experiment, wherein there were electrodes stuck to my head and I had to read sentences without blinking, one word at a time). I just had some chicken for dinner and it finally went away.

I don't think these things are related.

I get headaches mostly from looking too long at computers and being around fluorescent lights and also from rapid changes in the weather. And sinuses/stuffiness (which is, unfortunately, every day). And if I don't have enough caffeine.

I hope you feel better!

I get headaches when I don't drink enough water.

yes, could be caffiene.

Also, if you're under a lot of stress, it could be a migraine. I'd never had one before and started getting them last summer. Take breaks for your eyes (move them around, look at things in a different field of depth), drink lots of water, try to cut down on caffiene, and eat well, and you should be cool.

My roommate used to get headaches from caffeine withdrawal sometimes, so I'd say it's certainly a possibility. Do you feel the headache more on one side of your head than the other? Any light sensitivity? Nausea? If "yes" to any of those, it might be a migraine. I don't have a lot of personal experiences with migraines, thankfully, but I hear that lying completely still in a dark room can help. (It also can help with regular headaches.) There's also expensive-but-effective medications (Imitrex is one) that could help if it really is a migraine.
