I'm taking a short break after my shower to write a quick entry. First of all, I've gone in a completely different direction with NaNoWriMo. I was originally going to write a follow-up to Magnolia Blossoms - last year's completed effort - when I had a little brain storm that wouldn't go away. So I opened Word, started jotting everything down,

You need to remove everything chrome from the oven before the clean cycle or it will turn grey/black.

I think that was the one think I already knew about running the self-cleaning cycle. Because I'm fairly Internet savvy, I made a quick Google query into how to run a self-cleaning cycle on my particular brand of oven and sure enough found a step-by-step guide, including the sage advice "for the love of all that is good in the universe, make sure you take the racks OUT." I think those were the only "chrome" parts in the oven. I may need to look into returning them to their former chrome state.

Secondly, today will be spend doing more cleaning. The oven needs to be pre-washed (to get the worst of the gunk out, and may be assisted by boiling some water, sticking it in a dish, and letting the oven steam for twenty minutes or so) before running the self-cleaning cycle, tables and whatnot need to be dusted, and the whole apartment should be vacuumed for good measure. I'm also going to run the excess plastic bags down to be recycled as well as pick up a few boxes to start putting Goodwill bound clothing into.

...come over to my house. I'm not sure how three adults make this much mess, I just know that my mother and I as end-of-day zombies can't keep up with it. Properly motivated we can top-to-tail the place in eight hours, but askljdaliuwhuaidshayfid.

For all I know the dogs are leaving me laundry, clutter, and dirty dishes. @_@
