OMG...poor Jack, so hurt and damaged and out of control, and he feels like he can't do a thing about it...and there's THAT scene, and the way you incorporated it makes so much more sense. This is Jack who doesn't know what to do, who'd lost complete faith, who only wants to find Ianto yet thinking he never will... *sniffle*

Ianto isn't fairing much better, now he'll just take any kind of gentleness, even coming from his torturer, but knowing it won't last...

And Amy, just wanting to fix this...

I love this fic to pieces.

Aww, thank you so much! They were both broken before this whole thing started, so this is...well. I'm glad that your thought the EoT scene worked well.

Thank you again!

Just keep reading...I do know where it is going, I promise! And there will be more Alonso, as I do actually like him (just not as a permanent lover of Jack's). And I never wanted to portray Gray as a cut and paste bad guy, because he was never portrayed as that. I did feel some sympathy for him in Exit Wounds, because he was never meant to go down that path. He was forced into it. And Jack, with his immortality, may have become the same without the influence of the Doctor and, later, his team.

Thank you.

P.S. He can squirm like a bastard when he wants to *gazes all dopey-eyed*

Awww cute!

And this chapter is so heartbreaking. Poor Jack and reading that scene from DW in this contexts is so painful. I can't wait for more.

"You know he doesn't love you like you loved him."

He leaned in closer, his breath ghosting over Ianto's lips, hand carding down to caress gently over his sternum, then his stomach…lower…

"But I can love you…"

Ianto is going to be SO fucked up when Jack finds him!

What was the thing you mentioned about the Ianto shrine? I didn't hear about that.

Oh yes. He's going to be damaged, but there would be no dramatic interest if everything was rosy.

thanatos-kalos has been keeping a meticulous record of the Shrine, and she went down to record it a few days ago and saw three lads rip some stuff of it. When she confronted them, they told her that it was "disgusting", they likened homosexuality to murder and paedophilia, told her that she "needed Jesus" and finally finished with the immortal sentiment that they wouldn't tolerate it in "their city".

I did cry. But then I reasoned that they should watch out when I hopefully go to Cardiff Uni in the Autumn *cracks knuckles and brandishes hockey stick*

Thank you!

Another brilliant chapter.

Again, I really love the way you're writing Rory. The Doctor and Amy, I think, like to ask a little too much of him at times, which is wonderful, especially when he's torn between supporting Amy and protecting her from something that may upset her.

The scene between Ianto and Gray made me a little sad, and I'm positive the majority of it was for Ianto, and only a smidge was for Gray. His insanity is terrifying, yet sad at the same time (to me, anyway).

Loved the little hat-tip to EoT, and by extension Star Wars. I could see Jack actually being ballsy enough to go against Torchwood to spill some secrets of the universe to someone. Hehehe. Can't wait for chapter eleven.

Ah, Rory is amazing. And his nursing skills will obviously come in handy later on. He follows Amy like Ianto followed Jack to his death - it's his choice, but if it ends badly Amy will only blame herself.

As for Gray, there is something there that makes you pity him, even though what he's doing is awful. That's what I always felt, anyway, which is why I never agreed with Torchwood Magazine givinv him the title of "most evil vilain".

Thank you!
