It is the job of the police to protect the citizens from one another. Regardless of whether or not their aggravation is warrented, it is your job to protect me from them.

My punishment for my involvement is another matter, not to be confused.

Unless you are saying that the job of the police is merely to point the citizens in the right direction? If that is the case you can be assured that I will not turn to you for protection again in the future, should it be neccessary.

I have compassion for my fellows, but I understand that there is a time and a place for it.

My own existence is more important to me than the existence of others, I do not, nor have I ever, pretended otherwise. I took the steps neccessary to defend that existence...and I do regret the outcome of said steps, friends of mine were caused harm. This is part of the reason I turned myself in.
