I saw Avatar on Christmas too. I rolled my eyes at most of the things you mentioned, especially stupid things like "unobtainium" and "flux fortex(?)". My friends and I were the only ones laughing at those parts; no one else seemed to get it. They could have spent a little more time on scriptwriting and character development. But some of the scenery was really pretty, the story wasn't awful, and it was kind of enjoyable overall.
