LB: [vigorously doing babysign sign for 'breastmilk'] Gin! Gin! (Alas, this has a soft 'g' and there's a suspicion of a 'k' at the end (I think he's trying to say 'drink'), but it amuses me to imagine he's demanding gin. Mother's ruin, mother's milk, almost the same thing).
Me: [picking him up, and laying him across my lap, unclipping bra thingumy] ( Read more... )

Well, unusual at least. And, considering his hatred of hats and the forehead-strip-thermometer, probably cruel as well.

Could you sit somewhere else?

I do apologise for finding this gently hilarious. :)

Apologies not needed - it was meant to be amusing. Anywhere I sit there's something to distract him, at the moment. I suspect even a completely white empty room would offer some distraction (White tiger - 'Gat! Gat! = 'Cat!')But that particular chair should at least be safer once the tree's down later this week.

TBH, his sign for 'breastmilk' is pretty similar to him doing the first actions to 'twinkle, twinkle' and his wave goodbye also tends to be the same sort of action, but you can usually tell which it is from context.

He's much keener on babysign than PB ever was (although PB has got more interested now, in typical competitive older sib style). We were being very half-arsed about it but are trying to do more as he so clearly wants to use it.
