Feminist valentines?

Hmmm. Is it just me being all old-fashioned second-wave feminist, or is there something a little bit odd about Women's Aid selling valentines?  I mean, it's great to find new ways of raising funds for Women's Aid, and this is really nicely done with some lovely ideas. Not just you. If there were something more overtly feminist about the designs, I might feel differently, but as it is, that does seem odd.

Yes, indeed. They're quite nice messages (and the one I was sent was extremely apt) but contain no ideas that you couldn't have got from anyone, feminist or not.

I rather like Valentine's Day, but that's because I'm not very good at being romantic (my sense of humour or my cynicism often spoils the moment) and Valentine's Day and other such external promptings help me to remember that, done right, I do appreciate and enjoy romance.

But I'm not a charity dedicated to eradicating domestic violence...
