Pox-ridden

Well, if LB has to have chicken pox (and it is pretty much obligatory and I do definitely want him to have it in childhood) he could have chosen a much worse time. The exclusion period for our nursery is 5 days from first spots and I noticed the first tell-tale spots(1) when I picked him up from nursery yesterday. He's not due to go to nursery ( Read more... )

Thank you. (Will reply to email sometime when not at work but, in brief, all fine, not caddish, can't do any of those dates, so let's stick with original)

Has PB had it already, then?

(I was v grateful a couple of months ago to establish that I definitely had had chicken pox as a kid & therefore was not at risk of coming down with it. Timing would have been very very bad indeed.)

Cheer yourself up sometime in the future by picking a REALLY BAD time he could have had it & counting that as what you're saved from by him having it now ;)

Get well soon to all!

PB had it quite mildly aged 11 months-ish, but that may have been too young to 'take'. At the moment I am putting my metaphorical fingers in my ears going 'la la la' about the possibility of him coming down with it, since that would probably include our next 'both parents working' days, which would be much more inconvenient.

Since I still don't have home internets much - come and visit! I have a big box of books to give you. But perhaps not this week...

Hope he feels better soon, for all your sakes!

Oddly, the quatlet felt fine for the first few days of having spots, then was clingy over Easter weekend, then spent the next few days complaining of itching.

At least it's over and done with, though the theme tune of Miffy Goes To the Far East will be ingrained in my head forever (watched about 30 times in a row on the worst day...)
Thomas the Bloody Tank Engine books - all is forgiven!

I think D was feeling so ill himself today that he barely noticed any repetition. My day tomorrow. I anticipate a lot of Shirley Hughes stories (which I don't mind).
