Ack, I have been remiss in checking my flist, and have missed two three whole DecoFiremen updates!
Anyway, this is amazing. Like... I know I say that every time? But I mean it every time. You are a writer of rare and incredible talent, dude. Also, this is the fic I wanted since we left off with Matty in his sear-fever - the rest of the DecoFiremen pulling ranks, helping him to get back on his feet. Worrying. Also this line - "A man gets his sear, his Company stands down til he's fit for duty again." - may have gotten a whimper out of me.
I have one question, and it's more of a general technical thing than character-specific, but, uh, what's a pulmotor? Google says it's a type of (?) resuscitator, is that correct?
Four, technically, but only because I just added the latest at the last minute, because you reminded me I hadn't posted it to LJ. ;) Have I balked at how this 'verse is nearly 12K words already?
Ack thank you. I am blushing. I do love writing their interactions with each other - the interplay between the senior and the younger men, between the Captain and the rest, how their personalities mesh. And Sully, of course, worrying like hell over Matty. He's legitimately not letting him off his side until he eats something and drinks a full cup of coffee.
Yes, a pulmotor is an early type of resuscitator, which apparently was stupidly heavy and took two men to haul around. I think it's actually a brand name, I can't remember off the top of my head, and I should probably think of a more-obvious-but-still-period name for it.
