* Two trips to the hardware later, the tree is up. It actually looks better in real life, but now that I see the picture I noticed some holes I need to fill. I still say it's leaning

Cookies- What? You said you did a terrible job of decorating. Here I was all set to laugh cheer you on, but they look scrumptious.

Your Tree reminds me that we still need to make ours. Yes make. We have no room to put a standing one.

Danish Brune Kager are to die for those were the heart shaped ones, and Finsk Brød(the bar shaped ones at the top) I only got ONE of those but they were also good. German ones, Pfeffernuesse disappeared but although they looked like kibble they were fantastic. Sadly the Gossamer Spice Cookies were hard as rock and too dangerous to keep. I might try them again and be a bit more careful with adding flour when rolling the thickness (bought a sleeve for the rolling pin that seems to work miracles at the not sticking to it business). They are supposed to be only 1/8 of an inch but I will see if they work better at 1/4. They too tasted fantastic so it was a shame. All of them but the Finnish ones are spice flavoured which I love.

And you are absolutely correct. A female character only becomes a Mary Sue when she is consciously and willfully a projection of the writer’s desires in that particular fandom. In other words, the writer has written herself into her own fic. I’ve written one story where there was an OFC, but she most certainly was not a Mary Sue. :-)

How have you been? Haven't seen you around in ages.

I think in the world of 'bad fic' most of those fics could be marysues. Usually you can spot those a mile away ( someone 'falls' into the story's universe or a character falls out). But there are loads of people who write good stories and to brush off every OFC as a Mary Sue is a mistake.
