I love Georgette Heyer's mysteries - I've been collecting them for several years. Death in the Stocks is one that I haven't gotten hold of yet, but I love the cover of the re-issue!
If you like Christie and Heyer books, you might enjoy the Death in ... series by MM Kaye. They're set during the '40s and '50s at the end of the British Raj (India, Zanzibar, Kenya, Cyprus, etc.), and they're some of my favorite books ever. =)
You definitely must read it! So far it is very absorbing. Are there any that you would recommend? I hear that she has written some romance novels. Are they any good?
MM Kaye? I have never heard of them before but I am interested! Thank you for the recommendation :)
All of Heyer's mysteries are pretty good, but "The Unfinished Clue" is my favorite, I think.
She did write a whole boatload of Regency romance novels, and they're along the lines of Jane Austen's books, but with the added bonus of being really humorous. The British arm of whatever company publishes the reprints of her books have been re-releasing them lately, so you should actually have an easier time getting hold of them than I do. It's hard for me to pin down a favorite, because most all of them are a lot of fun!
You have to watch it!! There are pirates, and royalty and death and rebirth and true love and miracles and sword fights and swamps and giants and hate! Truly brilliant!!!
