Kidding. I heard about this. Craziest thing is, it was named after one of the kids, and I don't think they flogged his parents.

Sometimes I just don't understand how the human race has existed for so long.

Now, instead of flogging they are giving her fifteen days of prison and deportation.
They offer huge salaries to Americans and English people for going to the Sudan and teaching or doing skilled work, but situations like this show just how risky it is to work in such an enviornment.

My view is that there are lots of workable and humane ways of running a culture. Not all ways of running a culture fit that description, however, and some systems work better than others.
