[ It's quite rainy outside, storming, lightning, and wind. Trees are looking almost like they could be pulled from the ground any second. In other words: Charles is not going to let his kids go out, so he's let them have a day off, but left them with the thought that the places that are off limits -- are still off limits, and practicing hurts no one. The house is a little noisy in the background, but that's okay. ]

A shame for the weather. We were going to do some work outside today.

[ Charles approaches Erik at the window. He hadn't realized how bad it as. ]

Some of the children really hate the storms, so I open up things like the Danger Room for games. Anne's with them, even. Playing, enjoying herself.

[ Might see a hint of pride when he mentions her. ]

[ Charles rests his hand on Erik's arm for a brief moment before moving it back to the arm of his chair. Free time was so rare since children and runaways had started to appear. Knowing that the children were safe and alright put his mind at ease. ]

I think we earned a brief break.

[ Charles figured that it would be more than drinks, and that was a lot of what made it appealing. Time alone was hard to come by, after all. ]

[ Once in the study, Charles directed himself towards the shelving with the scotch. The shelves have moved slightly and were more accessible by Charles. He appreciated the independence. ]
