*pushing his tongue between his upper teeth and his lip, he looks the image of impatience. A moment later a lets out a huff and looks over at the only other person in the lift with him*
*Hugging the wall, almost afraid to even breathe, Dany was trying not to let the panic swallow her up. Most of the time she could just suck it up but she really wasn't a fan of tight spaces. So the idea of dangling in this tiny metal coffin really didn't appeal to her.*
W..why'd it stop? Are we going to fall? *She whispered as if speaking at a normal tone might break some loose and send them hurdling to their deaths.*
*Oddly enough the fire concerned her less than the falling and she didn't think anything about him coming closer.*
They can't just leave us here. Can they? *Her breathing grew more erratic as she turned to the buttons in hopes of finding some intercom or distress button. There was no intercom but when she pushed the button nothing happened. She had no way of knowing if maintenance heard it and was sending help, it was broken, or if they evacuated without checking to make sure no one was trapped.*
I should have taken the stairs. Why didn't I take the stairs? *There were tears in her voice but not in her eyes as she started scanning the elevator for an escape hatch or something. In the movies there was always some panel that led to where the cables were. Once again, reality failed to live up to cinematic expectations and eventually her wide eyes landed back on her cellmate.*
Because you're as lazy as the rest of us and the sight of a flight of stairs made you want to vomit, I'm guessing?
There's no point in making wishes about things that have already happened. I've not met anyone who can change the past, but if you can I have a list of things you could fix for me.
*sliding down the metal wall, he sat and leaned his forearms against his knees. Looking up he gave her a smile* Relax, something will happen soon enough.
*Following his lead, she attempted to sit as lady-like as she could manage in a skirt. A little less lady-like, she slipped off the high heels she'd been wearing in an effort to make a good first impression at the law firm.*
Does this happen a lot? *She asked flashing him the smallest smile just so he knew she appreciated his effort to calm her.*
