Christmas in the desert was pretty much like every other day of the year. The only thing that might remotely indicate the day was special was an anemic tree in the corner worthy of Charlie Brown with two poorly wrapped boxes underneath. Jane had been in a hurry, there was no time to make them look pretty.
It was always convenient when Hanukkah rolled around days before Christmas, because it meant she could spend the entire time taking advantage of peppermint flavored candies and everyone's love for the fat man in red.
Smiling at Jane she hands Jane a small wrapped present from the pocket of her coat and grins. "You too boss."
