Nothing exciting happened on the Underground. Keeping an ear open for her stop, Martha opened her book and began reading. She ignored the commotion up ahead until she heard someone shouting something. A figure that didn't look human was barreling down the aisle, people shrieking and cowering away. Though not exactly calm, Martha held out her foot at the last second and the thing tripped. Ad then glared at her with absolute hatred in it's eyes. Bloody hell.

A beat behind that barreling body came the sound of boots pounding on the metal walkway. His voice came shortly after- "Hey, don't let that thing--!"

A foot stuck out of the aisle, and oh he could kiss whoever did that, that was beautiful. The monster stumbled and fell, hitting the floor of the bus hard. He down a second later, wrestling the thing into submission. Reached for a wooden stake in his pocket, but it scattered across the floor. "Hey- do me a solid-"

Martha was trying to figure out how to keep the alien from attacking her when a man tackled it. He reached for something in his pocket which fell away. As he asked her to grab for it, she was already on her way to reach it. Picking up the... stake? she placed it into his outstretched hand.

Look at her, on the ball within seconds. She had good reflexes, he'd give her that. He grappled with the monster for a second, then snatched the stake from her with his free hand, raised it up, and speared it straight through the Wog's forehead.

For a moment, nothing happened- then, it dissolved beneath him in a flurry of flaky ash, disappearing into nothing but a black stain on the floor. He stayed on his knees for a second, catching his breath. "Jesus."

"Martha actually," she replied without missing a beat, "but I can see how you could confuse us." At that minute the train slowed and someone came on the loudspeaker talking about police...

Martha grabbed him by the elbow. "And we need to get you off the train and out of public eye," she added as she gently tugged, smoothly grabbing her bag with the other hand and moving towards the door.
