"...I thought I was rather clear, really."
She adores Bernard. She really does. He'll ask her to marry him soon and she'll say yes and the Suit will hum with pleasure that their new young Jack and nearly life-long Ace will be forming a storybook-charming sort of marriage. He's sweet to her, gentle, devotedly in love. He's only two years older than she is. Lance thinks he's a perfect replacement for his former rank and a near perfect match for his no longer child-aged ward.
But her fingers are curling in Julien's collar, eyes desperate for a 'yes' from him. The Something between them needs to be resolved. She just needs a kiss. Just a night pretending he's the man she's going to promise soon she'll be waking up next to every day.

It's not, precisely, something he's expected out of her. Not that he hadn't considered the possibility for even he was certainly aware that she'd grown into a woman. It had just seemed to be the sort of thing that would remain a possibility. She was no serving-girl to be taken in the shadows under the stairs, after all. And yet here she's got her hand fisted in his collar, her body so close to his.
Her lips are so very close...and he's never been able to deny her anything.

(So, I rolled to see which of your characters to tag. Then I rolled to see which of mine. *sigh* Then I rolled for scenario and kept getting stuff like 1/1 or 2/5 or 3/2 which would be horrible H!V Verse. I refuse. So I rolled until I found an acceptable number.)
[A trip sounded like a good idea. It had been years and years since Sophie had been off Deck. She didn't want to miss the Bookseller's Convention, so her friends had urged her to go. At the last minute, she'd asked Cadogan to come with her. No, it wasn't because she needed a keeper Outside. Well, maybe....
Then there'd been the party and the drinking, followed by dancing and more drinking and roller coasters and more drinking and gambling and blowing on dice and more drinking and...her head. Ow.
If it wasn't for the little men jackhammering her brain, she'd have noticed the warm body she's sprawled across first thing. Sophie stills. She's not sure which would be worse: a stranger, or Cadogan. Oh, Dear. She's afraid to look.]

[Of course he trusted her to go alone and be safe. But of course he said yes to keeping an eye on her while she traveled. The Deck-born are hardly idiots or overly naive, but there was simply something to having been born in the outside world that made transitions a little smoother, life a little easier.
He had honestly tried to be a proper monitor. He'd lasted through the first round of drinks quite well. But... they'd been so tired lately. So busy and overwrought and thrown out of balance and then she'd been beaming so happily when she asked him to dance with her that he'd taken the shot of vodka and the rest had descended into blackness.
It's only starting to shake away now as too much light filters into the room and he starts to shift against the darkness, peer hazily through mostly shut eyes at the room around them.
How does it know? How. Does. It. KNOW?onlytolerableJanuary 30 2012, 18:56:28 UTC
[Sophie feels the change in his breathing and calculates the odds of sliding out of bed, sheet and all, and making a break for...she cracks open an eye...her room. They're in her room.
Marvelous. Short of running into the bathroom and locking the door, there is no escape. She lifts her left hand to her aching head. That's when she notices the extra weight and something on her finger glimmering in the dim morning light.]
Rent!verse 1.3? I figure that's pretty hideous too...elani_songbirdJanuary 30 2012, 14:02:10 UTC
How had they gone from her sitting down in front of him so he could braid her hair like always to...his lips on her neck. And she should be blushing and stammering but it feels so very nice and maybe she should just turn around and kiss him properly, just to see what it's like.
And not ask if he was going to get in trouble for this.
...yup. This is pretty hideous. <3piqueshowJanuary 30 2012, 15:07:18 UTC
It was almost an accident. The curve of her neck was just so dreadfully Appealing when he'd swept her hair aside. It was natural enough to delicately press a kiss there. Then another. And then, since she wasn't stopping him, a few more.
And then she'd squirmed around and their lips had actually come together and That was just Fantastic.
His hum is soft as he catches her cheek, tilts her head gently to kiss her more Properly, carefully begin pressing her back against the bed they've been sitting on. He'll worry about the Cost of his Time later. For now? It feels Good to kiss someone Genuinely.
Fancy that. Hideousity.elani_songbirdJanuary 30 2012, 23:01:42 UTC
Perhaps because she knew him so well by now explained why she didn't feel the creeping embarrassment and blushing she felt with other men. Perhaps it was because this all felt too unreal to actually be happening it was simpler to just...go along with it.
Simpler and far more appealing.
He was so very pretty, and his skin felt so very nice and warm under her fingertips.
because... I don't know. 1.3. (is it just me or is everybody getting that?)manofmanyfacetsJanuary 30 2012, 15:13:43 UTC
They're discreet about it. They do their best to be. But discretion means that times like these are few and far between, so of course when they can, Santeri's going to make the most of it, tumbling Katya into bed without a second thought.
RNG knows. It *knows* :OmaidenthespadeJanuary 31 2012, 01:16:11 UTC
It takes a world of trust to allow someone to sweep her legs even when she knows the pleasure that is soon to follow, and it's a world of luck that's allowed them this much free time unattended by either duty or Numbers. So her hands keep their grip on the lapels of his jacket and pull him down with her, mouth already seeking his in a nipping kiss.
He lands rather heavily on her, but makes up for that with greedy kisses as he fumbles with her buttons, rolling her so they're on their sides to make it easier. No need to think of Suits or work right now. There are better things to do.
