She frowned. This conversation wasn't really working- he was missing pieces here and there, it wasn't really effective, but she didn't have the ability to communicate any more fluently. "I don't know how."

It was said with a bit of annoyance, a bit of insistence. It wasn't as though she got a choice in the matter, she just woke up like this. There was no decision-making process, she just... was. Also, maybe a little bit that she didn't want to, she didn't want him alone, didn't want to leave her mum and her family.

But for the most part it was the not knowing how thing.

He squeezed his eyes shut and dropped his head. The communication was shaky and he didn't want to have to tell her what would happen if she stayed like this. This was how those spirits were made. Not crossing over was just the beginning. He didn't want that for her. He couldn't handle it.

"Rose, listen to me. You can't stay. You've got to cross over. You need to find a way." He was a little afraid of how Dean would handle this if he was here. The man wasn't a monster, but he was a man who did what had to be done. Castiel had been like that, but he was changing. Things weren't always black and white.

"Find a way- but that's rubbish, I dunno how." It wasn't like in films, there was no blinding light or people guiding her. There wasn't anything. Just... waking up and not being in her body anymore. She felt the same, she even looked the same.

"You're an angel- sort of- can't you- I dunno- help?" Shouldn't they help? They didn't just... leave people wandering around on earth, people that couldn't figure it out, did they?

He lifted a hand and rubbed his forehead. This was not something he thought he'd have to deal with. He honestly had never anticipated her dying. He had gotten so comfortable with this new life he never thought it would change. That was naive though. Life constantly changed. It was always becoming something different.

He dropped his hand and looked in the direction of her voice. She was starting to come into focus like bad television reception. Flickering in and out. "I'm not an angel anymore, Rose. My powers are--dead. I wish I could help you."

His eyes flicked to her, and for a second, she thought he could see her. Really, actually see her. That was an improvement, right? A step up? Or maybe it was the opposite of what he was going for. Either way, she didn't exactly have any control in the matter.

"But you've gotta know how to... do... something. I can't... I don't know what happened. I dunno why this is happening, or how. I don't understand what to do."

It was hard to see her like this. She was visible by now. The look on her face made the angel feel horrible. He felt like a bastard. He felt like he was the one who had gotten her killed. It actually pained him to watch her like this. This was new for the angel. To feel this bad about something.

"I'm sorry, Rose. I really am. What--what do you think is keeping you here? Are you sure you haven't seen a man in a black coat following you around? He's--" He was trying to think of a gentle way to break this to her. "a Reaper. It can be a woman as well."

There it was-- his eyes were locking on to her. Her eyes widened, and she waved a hand back and forth in front of his face. His eyes followed it, and she squeaked, startled. "You can see me. It's been days, I was afraid I'd--"

She was afraid she'd have to wander around on Earth alone for the rest of... well... forever. She can't help but throw her arms around his neck again. Hugging. She did a lot of it. "No, I haven't seen anybody. I mean- I've seen everybody, let me tell you how bloody bizarre it is, going to your own funeral, but nobody's been able to see me for days, hear me, anything."
