There were no harpies. There was no cereal falling from the sky. There was no sign of peas and clover being in any kind of cabinet anywhere

"Lady Wilhelmina!" Minsc greeted her back with a smile. "Good evening! I am! It is nice to see you, too, at the Stitch'n'Bitch. Not to say that I mind bringing Boo, or anything, of course."
Because, yes, he was only there because Boo wanted to be. Really.

"The Stitch'n'Bitch!" Minsc repeated merrily. "Because, you know, that is what we do! We...stitch. And sometimes we bitch! And sometimes we eat food and fight harpies and such, but that did not quite as well be fitting with the rhyme scheme."
Re: Mingling and RefreshmentsberserkerminscMarch 18 2009, 21:43:01 UTC
"But why not?" asked Minsc, looking rather befuddled. "It says what it is! Exactly! And, no offense to the fine lady intended, but it's much snappier than Lady Elizabeth's windblown title."
"And," he added importantly, "more fitting. There are both gentlemen and hamsters present, not only ladies!"
Re: Mingling and RefreshmentsfunnywaysMarch 18 2009, 22:01:25 UTC
"Then perhaps we should amend the ladies part of the title," Mina said. "But I happen to think Miss Bennet's choice of title is far more appropriate and proper."
Re: Mingling and RefreshmentsfunnywaysMarch 18 2009, 23:00:46 UTC
"It is when the retitling is improper, sir," Mina said. "I find the second half of your new title rather displeasing. There are no female canines involved in this venture, and I hazard there rarely shall be."

"There also," muttered Minsc, "seems to be a lack in humour in the room as well."
Which was a lot better than the other thing he was thinking to say, which might have involved a stick located somewhere most inappropriate if Lady Wilhelmina was finding the use of the word bitch offensive.
"Besides," he added, a bit primly himself, "it is being used as a verb, not a noun and not intended to describe any participants, simply what they are doing."

And then he shook his head.
"Nope," he decided. "Still like Stitch'n'Bitch much better."
