Is anyone else appreciating the irony in the fact that they put on this huge concert to raise awareness of global warming? I mean, how much power did THAT use? Maybe next he should organize a task force of libs in SUV's who drive around the country to raise awareness of wasteful gas consumption.

I don't mind all that, actually. I think of it like calling people hypocrites for eating at a charity banquet to prevent poverty in X nation. If the good that comes out of it is exponentially greater, then fine.

My problem is the CONSTANT lifestyles of all those preaching about this, ESPECIALLY AL Gore. YOu know who gets to talk? Ed Begley Jr. Electric car, rides a bike to power his house, solar power only Ed Begley Jr. HE gets to talk.

My problem is the indulgences system of buying carbon offset like Catholics used to buy off sin, paying into Leftist companies as if that somehow makes flying a private jet (using a year of SUV fuel) okay. It's a scam.

My problem is Al Gore in An Inconveninent Truth pretending to fly commercial when he doesn't.

Yeah, I hear ya. I didn't mean that anyone spending money to raise money was a hypocrite just that a) it's kind of difficult to spend money justifiably on a fake cause and b) yeah, celebrities are my first thought when the word "conservation" comes to mind. Besides, I will always think it better to throw lavish banquets if the end result is raising money for people than I will to do something similar for the environment. Not that people aren't affected by the environment. It just all stinks of hippy dippy crap. I guess that's why I had a hamburger for lunch and not a veggie burger. I also think it a bit presumptuous of man to not only disregard scientific fact, but to believe that we are capable of having that much of an effect on the planet. It speaks to the Godlessness of that particular mindset. I think it almost impossible to believe in God AND be a crazed environmentalist, at least impossible to do so and not contradict your own logic ( ... )
